At Caro Futsal, passion and skill come together on the court. Founded and led by international futsal professional André Caro – “The Doctor” – our academy has grown into a true community of players, coaches, and families who share a love for the game. Since 2020, we’ve been creating a space where kids, teens, and adults of all levels can enjoy futsal, build confidence, and push their game further.

We welcome everyone – from beginners taking their first steps to seasoned players chasing the highest level. Our programs are built to challenge, inspire, and support, always with the goal of developing not just players, but people who love the sport and the culture behind it.

OUR TEAM
Andre
Caro Salve
Brazilian-born André Caro, affectionately known as "The Doctor," has significantly advanced futsal in Australia since moving there in 2010. Arriving from Campinas, Brazil, he quickly became a pivotal figure in Melbourne's futsal scene. As captain of Pascoe Vale Futsal Club (now Melbourne Lions Futsal Club), he led the team to multiple championships, establishing them as one of Australia's most successful futsal teams.
In 2019, André extended his expertise to the international stage by supporting Australia's U13 national futsal team during the World Cup. His commitment to nurturing young talent is further exemplified through his coaching endeavors, where he has mentored thousands of players, many of whom have flourished into exceptional futsal athletes.
The 2020-21 season marked a significant milestone in André's career when he joined Dubai's Al Nasr Futsal Club as the U20 and Senior Team Assistant Manager. Collaborating with head coach Rafael Fogageiro, André played a crucial role in the team's historic achievements, including clinching prestigious titles such as the Etihad Cup and the President's Cup.
André’s unwavering passion lies in developing young futsal talent and creating avenues for them to compete internationally. In 2021, upon returning from Dubai, André founded Caro Futsal to continue his mission of nurturing the next generation of futsal stars. Through this platform, many of his players have seized opportunities to showcase their skills on global stages, reflecting his profound impact on the sport's growth in Australia and beyond.

Rafael
Fogageiro
Rafael Fogageiro is Brazilian, born in São Gonçalo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. He graduated in Physical Education in 2004 and Physiotherapy in 2015 from Salgado de Oliveira University. He also completed a certified "latu sensu" course at the School of Physical Education and Sports at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a specialization in futsal.

With over 17 years of coaching experience, his work in Saudi Arabia and Iran stands out—particularly in Iran, where he was the head coach of Giti Pasand FSC. He led the team to the regular-season championship of the Iranian Futsal League in 2018/19, breaking multiple records in the competition’s history.
​
Rafael then took charge at Al Nasr Futsal Club in the UAE, where he secured multiple trophies, including the 2020/21 Etihad Cup and the prestigious President’s Cup.
Most recently, Rafael became the head coach of the Bahrain National Team, guiding them to qualification for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Finals in 2024. Under his leadership, Bahrain has risen to become one of the strongest futsal teams in Asia, demonstrating tactical excellence and competitive dominance.

Luizinho
Cruz

Luizinho Cruz is a Brazilian futsal goalkeeper coach with an international reputation, best known for his work with Kairat Almaty and the Kazakhstan national team. Over his career he has trained and mentored some of the game’s top goalkeepers, including Leo Higuita, 5-time winner of the Best Goalkeeper in the World award.

Respected for his detailed approach to goalkeeper development, Luizinho combines technical fundamentals, tactical awareness, and performance analysis to help players excel under pressure. His training methods emphasise decision-making, modern distribution, and the unique responsibilities of the futsal goalkeeper in set-plays and flying goalkeeper systems.

Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Luizinho brings a global perspective and clear communication to every session, making him a trusted mentor for players and coaches around the world.
